2011 Pinot Gris

2011 Pinot Gris

We have found that our region is perfectly matched for growing and producing exquisite blends of Pinot Gris. We strive for our Pinot Gris to showcase the acidity of the Columbia Gorge, while carrying a mouth feel that is soft and pleasant expressing wonderful fruit, acidity and lushness.  Typical nutty flavors are prevalent, and a round flavor profile accents the acidity perfectly.

Light floral notes with refreshing pear and granny smith apple enliven the bouquet. Ripe citrus and balanced acidity highlight the mouthfeel, followed by a slightly nutty finish. Our Pinot Gris is crisp and fun, with subtle body making it a very versatile food wine.

2011 Chardonnay

2011 Chardonnay

Silver Medal - OR Wine Awards 2012
Silver Medal - Astoria Seafood and Wine Festival 2012

Lemon zest and Bartlett pear aromas tease the palate along with hints of butterscotch, vanilla and a soft mouthfeel. While luscious and savory, this wine also shows finesse with intriguing floral tones and subtle minerality.

The 2011 Chardonnay profiles more fruit flavor than our previous vintage while retaining the same pleasing mineral balance with a softness that sits on the tongue and begs for another sip. Neutral oak barrels lead to a mature memorable wine balanced by acidity.

Over the past 5 years we have been refining our Chardonnay program-we achieve the rich, butter tones capable of the Gorge, and peel back some of its sumptuousness and reveal the Chardonnay flavors. We avoid new oak, and instead reach to sur lee aging, stirring of the lees, and partial malolactic fermentation to achieve a complete and complex flavor profile.

Reserve Chardonnay

2010 Reserve Chardonnay

Awarded Gold Medal - 2012 S.F. International Wine Competition

Awarded Silver Medal - 2012 S.F. Chronicle Wine Competition

A light golden hue with a warm nose that hints at vanilla. A luscious, full mouthfeel with nutty notes and butterscotch that lead through strong, complex layers lingering throughout the finish.

Aged for 16 months in mellowed American Oak barrels from Belvedere Winery, this is a creamy, buttery wine with balance fruit and acidity.

Due to our colder climate, Oregon Chardonnay has a higher acidity level that those from California, making them perfect for long barrel aging as the acidity stands up and balances the wine.

Halbtrocken

Halbtrocken

Meaning "half-dry" in German, this wine is semi-sweet, floral and aromatic with hints of a dry finish. This wine bursts from the bottle with strong floral aromas and tropical fruit. Predominate flavors of wild strawberries, cherries and watermelon with a finish that is crisp and clean.

German in style, this wine is a secret blend of premium red and white grapes.

Our Halbtrocken is an opportunity to enjoy the flavors of our bolder and heavier red wines while softening their texture, toning down their tannins and adding light and bright fruit nuances to their flavor profile with beautiful white fruit

2009 Riesling

2011 Riesling

Honeydew melon, green apple and floral notes fill the nose; followed by tropical fruit, white peach, grapefruit, pineapple and honeysuckle. Light acidity pairs this well with spicier foods such as Indian Curry or Thai.

This Riesling is off-dry with a balanced acidity that makes it a wonderful, fresh display of Columbia Gorge terroir and a commitment to quality winemaking.

Don Flerschinger first planted Riesling on the estate in 1982 making the vines now 30 years old; and it shows.
