With bold and juicy tones of black cherry, sarsaparilla and pipe tobacco, our Merlot is luscious and layered, finishing in cocoa nibs and espresso. Just a hint of Petit Verdot was introduced to the blend and succeeded in adding a touch more body and additional delightful nuance to an already wonderful wine. True to Merlot character, it is very soft on the mouth yet can handle fatty meat. Our favorite pairing for the Merlot is a juicy Hamburger Stuffed with Goat Cheese and Sautéed Peppers. A limited run of 125 cases ensures that this won’t be around very long. A pH 3.8 and a TA of 6.3 promise a strong cellar life.

Lonnie Wright of The Pines Vineyard manages the vineyard portion, and he’s been managing it from the start. It’s a relatively warm site at around 1400 feet and receives lovely cool breezes coming off Mt Hood each night keeping the pH and TA in check, providing us with the best fruit available.[/show_more]
