✓ Classic and Time Honored Wine
Making Process
This impressive combination has allowed us to produce over 100 award winning wines.
Recently christened the Columbia Gorge AVA (American Viticultural Area) this region and the neighboring Columbia Valley AVA together are known as "A World of Wines in 40 Miles" The diversity of grapes, soil and elevation make the grapes of the Columbia Gorge representative of the four Premier European Growing Regions, the Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhine and Rhone. Much of the credit goes to our fabulous grape growers such as Lonnie Wright, John Bangsund, Clark Ziegler and others. Our Oregon wine harvests are locally gathered and wine crafting begins onsite using time honored traditions. Michael Sebastiani, our fourth generation winemaker has an innate talent for creating magic in every bottle.
We hope you'll plan a visit to the area to see the sights, bring a picnic or lunch, sit down enjoy the views and our wines or just take a walk around our grounds. Prehaps, start with Cathedral Ridge as the jumping off point for a memorable trip through the Columbia Gorge Wine Country. Cathedral Ridge Winery is the perfect setting for your outdoor wedding, private or corporate event. Nestled in a beautiful vineyard with stunning views our winery offers the perfect weatherproof location for up to 200 guests. Along with our charming gift shop, award-winning wines our friendly knowledgeable team is here to help make your event a successful one.
Mt. Hood towers over the area at 11,239. Called Wy'East by Native Americans, legend has it that the passionate rivalry between two chiefs over the same woman led to their fiery transformation into active volcanoes, with Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams competing in majestic beauty for the affection of Mt. St. Helens.
When you look at Mt. Hood you'll notice a striking feature, a knife edge ridge running off the summit to the Northwest. This is Cathedral Ridge. Awe inspiring in its ruggedness, it is known by the local climbers as some of the most amazing climbing in the Pacific Northwest. We thought it was a fitting moniker for our winery.
Come see why the Columbia Gorge was designated the first, National Scenic Area. It is known for stunning vistas, pristine landscape and world famous windsurfing, mountain biking and hiking. It's also a premier grape growing region, and has become famous for its great restaurants and wines. Our Oregon winery sits in a terrific location high on a ridge above the Columbia Gorge River with Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams as a backdrop. Just 5 minutes outside downtown Hood River where you can shop, eat and play. Robb Bell purchased Cathedral Ridge Winery (formerly Flerchinger Vineyards) and invites you, your family and friends to come, relax and enjoy our wines and our spectacular views.
