The 2019 Necessity Red is a lively blend of Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Barbera making it the lightest blend produced at Cathedral Ridge. The blend creates a Pinot Noir affect with real substance and weight. All 3 varietals are grown within 25 miles of the winery; there are few places in the world where that is possible. Like its name, this wine is a necessity and it has become known as the perfect table win enjoyed by all.
The wine opens with aromas of dried currant, fruit leather, anise and cinnamon. A fresh, bright, juicy berry palate with a touch of minerality, like your favorite sweet and sour dish. The blends rounds out with a rhubarb/strawberry finish.

Pair with a grilled cheese sandwich and cheese fondue.
