2015 Syrah Reserve

Voluptuous and dry with intense aromatic notes of herbaceous earth, black raspberry fruit leather, crisp citrus peel and fresh fir on the palate. This vintage is ideal for bold occasions and meals like prime rib or baked ham.

2016 Cabernet Franc Reserve

Bright strawberry and citrus notes play off a savory, herbal spice, making this vintage one of our most memorable. Cabernet Franc is a wonderfully versatile pairing wine that holds up nicely to tomato based dishes like pasta and pizza while easily balancing difficult herbal flavors like oregano, sage and rosemary. One of our favorite and simple pairing recipes is Sun-dried Tomato and Goat Cheese Frittata – recipe card is included with the purchase of the wine. Limited production of 200 cases. Our Cabernet Franc cellars beautifully for up to 15 years.

Pairs well with: Sun-dried tomatoes, pizza, lasagna, herbs, seafood stew

2016 Dampier Pinot Noir Reserve

Our Dampier Reserve Pinot Noir has one of our most complex aromatics and palates. It is bright but smooth, fruity but earthy, light but long lasting, elegant but approachable. Aged in neutral oak barrels for 20 months, longer than most Pinot Noirs ever see oak, the wine exudes a smooth quality you rarely see in such light bodied Pinot Noirs.

Aromas of dark black cherry and warm tobacco open into a bright, fruit-forward palate brimming with soft baking spice and currant. This black label reserve offers a delicate finish that will pair perfectly with any cuisine.

Located on Underwood Mountain, a commanding Butte in the stunning Columbia Gorge, the Dampier Vineyard has breathtaking views and fruit. Owned by Paul Huber and managed by Clark Ziegler, the site has several microclimates within the vineyard itself. The most meaningful we have discovered so far is that the 10 rows on the east side of the vineyard tilt about 8° to the east. While it sounds minor, this grants these rows almost an hour more of early morning sun than rows behind them. That means in cool years, the East Block portion of the vineyard ripens further and will have lower acidity than the rest of the vineyard. In hot years we pick it early before to ensure the fruit is at its prime. The Dampier reserve Pinot Noir is aged in neutral barrels for up to 20 months to assure the finest results.

Pairs well with: Mussels, Salmon, Pork, Goat Cheese, Pâté

2016 Winemaker’s Cuvee

A proprietary Bordeaux red blend, this fruit-forward reserve boasts notes of plum and cranberry on the palate with aromas of caramel, chocolate covered strawberry and toasted vanilla. Slightly effervescent, this vintage finishes dry with a soft spice.

Our Winemaker's Cuvee Reserve showcases the exemplary grapes the Columbia Gorge has to offer. Savor a glass on its own or pair with a hearty meal on a special occasion.  Best when shared with friends and a meal of grilled tri-tip smothered in a balsamic glaze with a side of roasted parsnips. Limited release: only 125 cases!

2016 Zinfandel

Beautiful, bright Italian plum, cocoa powder and hints of sweet tobacco bring a wonderful uniqueness to our 2016 Zinfandel. Stone fruit, caramel and fig on the nose, this particular vintage rounds out with a smooth, delicate spice.

Cathedral Ridge's Zinfandel features the grape's traditional flavors, yet carries a touch more spiciness inherent to our growing region. We ripen the grapes until deep berry richness in flavor is achieved and then age the vino for 22 months in oak casks.

Pairs well with: Alfredo, gorgonzola, bleu cheese, seared steak, mushrooms, dark chocolate

2016 Bordheauxd Red

Our Bordheauxd Red (pronounced Board Head Red) is a delicious blend of Echo Vineyard Cabernet, Reid Vineyard Merlot, and Reid Vineyard Syrah. Hood River and the Columbia Gorge are famous for the winds that gust through creating the perfect conditions for surfing and boarding. Because of that, kite boarders and windsurfers flock to the Gorge and are known as the Board Head Community. In the old days, they used to be called Boardheads because they carried their boards on their heads. While is was not a nice term at the time, the kite boarders and windsurfers soon adopted it. Bordheauxd Red is a clever play on the words Bordeaux and Board Head and gives homage to the colorful community that provides Hood River much of its spirit.

Pair Bordheauxd Red with a number of different appetizers and meals like tapas or Spinach and Artichoke Quiche – the recipe included with purchase.[show_more more="Read More” less="Show Less”]The grapes in Bordheauxd Red came from Reid Vineyard and the Helmsley Springs Ranch, which was one of the very first in the Oregon Territory, established in 1847. The vineyard is an extremely unusual site facing a steep canyon with substantial western exposure and ground that is chiefly sand; you can even walk around in your bare feet! Owned by the Reid Brothers Doug and Dave, it used to also have a shooting preserve. While the preserve is gone now, my dog Rhett and I still have great fun hunting pheasants and chuck.[/show_more]

Pairs well with: Barbecue pork, grilled eggplant, Chinese food

2016 Bangsund Pinot Noir Reserve

Our Bangsund Reserve Pinot is truly something special. From the warm weather Bangsund Vineyard in The Dalles, a climate emulating the French Left Bank style of Pinot Noirs.

Alluring aromas of dark rose, moss and chocolate covered cherry lead into a bright and smooth palate featuring hints of plum, leather and dried cranberry. A touch of minerality lends an earthy and slightly effervescent quality to this stunning vintage.

The Bangsund Reserve Pinot Noir derives its excellence from several factors. First, the vines are over 40 years old and grown by the vineyard owner John Bangsund. To say that he knows his vineyard well is a gross understatement. We often pick the regular Bangsund Pinot Noir grapes just a little before full ripe in order to guard against the huge heat waves that can hit this site during harvest. In the instance of the Reserve however, there is one portion of the Pinot Noir Vineyard that is shaded for about 2 ½ hours a day relative to the rest of the vineyard thanks to some well-placed trees. We take advantage of the lower heat in the shade by picking that little section of Pinot Noir well after the rest because we don't have to worry about ripening running away from us. This offers fair testimony to the quality of Bangsund Vineyard in The Dalles, Oregon and the unique flavors of the wines of the Columbia Gorge region.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Our 2016 Cabernet/Merlot blend is a traditional Bordeaux style blend, a perfectly balanced pairing of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.

This bold blend features spiced persimmon and freshly picked Oregon blueberry. Dark currant on the nose, notes of leather, white pepper, tangy rhubarb and citrus peel give way to sturdy, lingering tannins. Slight oak on the finish, this authentic Columbia Gorge wine is stunning in every way.

Pairs well with: red meat, lasagna, pizzas and pastas

2016 The Daughters'

A sassy Rhone inspired blend named for the winery owner's daughter and fitting to her personality!

Bold aromas of currant and ripe raspberry on the nose, followed by an enticing palate of anise, caramel and soft pepper. This superb blend finishes with a subtle spice. It's a fantastic wine for great times and great company.

This second release vintage of The Daughters' is a blend we've looked forward to making and sharing. Pair this wine with hearty meats and smoky bbq.
