A wine of quiet authority and rugged elegance, this 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Summit Reserve from Elephant Mountain vineyard is a bold statement from one of the Northwest’s most distinctive hillside sites. Grown at 1,460 feet, the elevation and volcanic soils of Elephant Mountain push the fruit toward concentration and precision.
Dark and structured, it opens with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and a whisper of cedar and dried sage. The palate is full and commanding juicy cassis and blackberry compote give way to layers of dark chocolate and roasted coffee over a backbone of firm, polished tannins, with a hint of tobacco and earth deepening the mid-palate. The finish is long and unhurried, intensely concentrated yet poised with natural elegance.

Absolutely delicious! I’m not much of a wine drinker, but a friend gifted me a bottle of this Cab and I was smitten from the first sip! The barrel aged qualities/flavors came through beautifully, which I really enjoyed. It’s a bold yet smooth wine with a balanced sweetness. I paired it with homemade meat lasagna and it was perfect! Hats off to the winemaker, Elephant Mountain and Cathedral Ridge.
